En una reciente entrevista con JoongAng Ilbo, Yong Hwa de CNBLUE habló sobre cómo ha crecido con los años y cuáles son sus metas para el futuro.
Él dijo: “Cuando empezamos, hubo muchas críticas hacia nosotros y la gente no nos consideró como una banda real. Debido a esas evaluaciones, no pudimos dejar de poner partes innecesariamente fuertes y excesivamente hechas en nuestra música para emitir ese estilo de rock en la música. In a recent interview with JoongAng Ilbo, CNBLUE‘s Yonghwa spoke about how he has grown over the years and what his goals are for the future.
He said, «When we first started, there was a lot of criticism towards us and people didn’t consider us as a real band. Because of those feedbacks, we couldn’t help but put unnecessarily loud and overly-done parts into our music to give off that rock style of music. But during our world tour back in 2013, that kind of thinking started to disappear a little bit – there were plenty of people and fans who enjoyed our music because it’s our music. We felt it was okay to have more confidence in ourselves and were at peace.«

The interviewer mentioned that there seems to be a lot more concerts for them these days to which he replied, «There are a lot of limitations with weekly music shows. We would like to perform on live stages but due to certain circumstances, it becomes difficult. Also, compared to other groups who dance at the same time, we only stand there with our instruments so it appears as if we’re doing the same thing over and over again.«
He also expressed some particular things they deal with as a band, «When we first started, our music tastes were all different. It was really hard to accommodate all different kind of styles, but it’s fairly similar now. As there are habits with songs/music, the same thing exists for instruments. Such as when we want to stop the drums at certain parts or playing the guitar during one melody compared to another.«
The interview continued with what he thought was different between solo and group albums. He said, «When I’m alone, I can experiment more freely. However, CNBLUE is my oasis.» He finished the interview with the hope of someday creating a concert hall for other bands to perform, «I think the reason the Japanese band market is so big is that there are so many places to perform. For us, if we perform at one place and go to the next, the latter has to jump more than two times the size. But if we create a variety of halls that fits 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, and etc., it might help bands survive and exist much longer. Hence, if I have a chance, I’d like to create a concert hall that fits around 8,000 people.«
